Meegos Privacy Policy

Meegos Inc. ("Meegos," "we," or "us") provides an AI-powered soccer companion app that helps fans stay connected to their favorite teams. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account and use Meegos, we collect:

• Account & contact info — phone number (used for SMS login verification), email address, username, and password.
• Profile — name, avatar, bio, timezone, favorite team, and the teams or players you follow.
• Chats and AI memory — the messages you send to your Meego and the facts your Meego remembers about you to personalize replies, such as your favorite players, topics you care about, and your soccer knowledge level.
• Subscription info — when you subscribe through the App Store, we receive your subscription status, customer ID, and transaction metadata from our subscription provider. We do not receive your full payment card details.
• Device & usage info — device type, OS, app version, push notification token, IP address and user agent at sign-in, and basic in-app activity used to improve performance.
• Optional content — photos or audio you choose to share through features that ask for camera, photo library, or microphone access.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

• Operate and personalize your Meego, including remembering preferences you've shared.
• Send chats, match updates, push notifications, and the newsletters you've opted into.
• Process subscriptions and verify logins.
• Provide customer support and respond to your messages.
• Monitor performance, debug issues, and improve features.

3. AI and Third-Party Model Providers

Meegos uses third-party AI service providers to generate Meego responses, summaries, and search results, and to power your Meego's memory. When you chat with a Meego, the content of your message (including transcribed voice messages), your name, favorite team, timezone, and relevant context (such as recent conversation history, your followed teams, and sports data) is sent to these providers to produce a response. The providers we currently use include:

• OpenAI
• Google (Gemini)
• Perplexity
• Mem0

We ask for your permission in the app before any of your data is sent to these providers, and you can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings → AI data sharing.

These providers act as our service providers and process data on our behalf under written agreements that require them to protect your information to a standard equal to the protections described in this policy, and that prohibit them from using your content to train their models.

We may use de-identified or aggregated chat data to improve Meegos.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run Meegos, in these categories:

• AI model providers (chat and content generation)
• Sports data providers (match, team, and player data)
• SMS verification (login codes)
• Push notifications
• Email (transactional and newsletters)
• Subscription management (App Store purchases)
• Analytics and crash reporting
• Hosting and infrastructure

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Meegos, our users, or others.

5. Data Storage, Retention, and Deletion

We store your data on secure cloud infrastructure and use industry-standard practices to protect it. No system is perfectly secure.

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the Meegos app, or by emailing hello@meegos.fun. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, chats, follows, devices, and payment records from our systems. We may retain limited records where required by law (for example, tax records for completed transactions) or in routine backups for a short additional period before they expire.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link at the bottom of any newsletter. Transactional messages (like login codes and important account notices) cannot be turned off while you have an account. Camera, photo library, and microphone access can be revoked at any time in your device settings.

6. Age Requirements

Meegos is intended for users 13 years of age or older. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete it. Higher age limits may apply based on your app store's content rating.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the current version at https://www.meegos.fun/privacy-policy with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
